Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc. awarded contract for Missouri Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program

Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc., a private California-based company, has been awarded the contract with the State of Missouri, Department of Natural Resources for the Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program.  After a competitive bid process, the official notice of award was published by the State on September 6, 2016, and the proposed solution from Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc. has been chosen for the State of Missouri.

Worldwide will work with the Department of Natural Resources and Missouri State Highway Patrol to implement the nation's first tablet-based vehicle emissions and safety inspection program, utilizing state-of-the-art inspection components which include ruggedized inspection-grade tablets and Worldwide's BAR Certified OBDII Data Acquisition Device (DAD).

Over the next few months, all licensed inspection stations in the Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program will be provided with a completely new inspection system which has been designed to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of vehicle inspections while providing inspectors with a user-friendly, rugged mobile inspection solution.  Worldwide's initial contract with the State will last for a period of four (4) years, with renewal options for up to an additional three (3) years.

The State of Missouri's previous contractor, Opus Inspection, filed an unsuccessful protest of the State's award to Worldwide.  Arguments made in Opus' protest were rejected by the State, and its award to Worldwide was upheld.  The award comes after the State initially awarded a contract for the Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program to Worldwide in August 2015.  However, after a protest of the State's procurement process was filed and upheld, the award to Worldwide was cancelled and up updated procurement was released by the State.  After a second competitive bid process, the proposal submitted by Worldwide was again selected by the State as the most favorable solution for the Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program.

Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc. acquires U.S. Georgia emissions business from Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, Inc.

Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc. has reached an agreement with Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, Inc. to acquire the Georgia portion of Bosch’s U.S.-based emissions test equipment business.

Prior to the acquisition, Worldwide worked with Bosch to develop, implement, and offer a cost-effective hardware and software upgrade package for the approximately 200 customers using Bosch equipment in Georgia. This provided customers with an option to upgrade existing inspection equipment rather than needing to invest in a more expensive, completely new system from Worldwide or another certified vendor.

Worldwide’s upgrade option was certified for official program testing by State of Georgia’s Clean Air Force , and nearly all of the participating customers have now been setup and are currently testing with Worldwide’s upgrade.  Components include updated inspection software, a biometric finger vein scanner for secured login and WEP’s BAR Certified OBDII Data Acquisition Device (DAD) for vehicle OBD inspections to ensure compliance with the State of Georgia’s Clean Air Force.

The State of Georgia’s Clean Air Force is the vehicle emissions inspection program in Georgia and is responsible for the identification and repair of polluting vehicles.  It has provided significant improvements to Georgia’s air quality since it began in 1996.  This last year, Georgia began Phase V of its inspection program, which required newly certified or upgraded vehicle inspection equipment for all participating official inspection stations.

For over thirty years, Worldwide Environmental Products, Inc. has been a leader in designing and providing innovative, high-quality vehicle emissions and safety inspection solutions.
